Matt is a member of the Bowles family who were first drawn to Bendigo for the Gold Rush; and then settled and farmed in the Strathfieldsaye district for over 100 years.
He grew up on a dairy farm in Dingee before studying and obtaining his full Estate Agent’s licence at Prahran TAFE after secondary school.
Matt got his first job at age 19 as a Receptionist for a local Real Estate Agency in Bendigo in 1990, working his way into Property Management Assistant then Property Manager roles before moving into Sales as a 22-year-old.
He joined the Dungey and Carter sales team in November 1993 and became a partner of Dungey Carter Ketterer (DCK) on 1 July 2001. After years managing Residential Sales, Matt moved into the commercial space listing, selling and leasing commercial and industrial property. He was appointed Officer in Effective Control (OIEC) in September 2020 and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of DCK's Commercial Department and team.
Matt is a very proud father of 3 children and when not at work loves supporting their activities and passions; as well as keeping active with a constant range of renovation projects at home and at the farm where he continues to enjoy the rural life running a few sheep.
As a strong supporter of the wider Bendigo community, Matt continues to help with Charity Auctions for various organisations and sporting clubs. His other business and community contributions include Committee Member and current Chair of the REIV Bendigo Division for a third term following first and second terms in 2003-2004 and 2012-2013 respectively. Previous Bendigo Health Foundation Chair and Board Member completing 13 years of service.
