Not many of us are fortunate enough to have the opportunity of turning a lifelong passion into a career, but Kathy Brennan of ACTON Applecross is one such lucky person.

‘My husband and I have bought, renovated, built and sold a number of properties in Applecross, Mount Pleasant and Nedlands,’ Kathy said, ‘I have obviously been a keen follower of the real estate market for a long time especially south of the river so making my spare time passion a career was a natural progression.’

Having bought and sold a number of properties herself, Kathy understands the pressures both sellers and buyers feel and knows how they wish to be treated.

‘I have always found buying real estate an exciting process and I receive as much excitement from helping clients find the home that is just right for them.’

Moving back to Applecross a few years ago after a short sojourn in Nedlands, Kathy and her family now live on the river in her home suburb. Growing up in Applecross, Kathy worked for a local building society on leaving school before moving to one of the larger banks.

‘My husband is a mortgage broker and with my background in banking I have a good understanding of finance. Real estate transactions can be daunting for many people so having a knowledge of finance as well as real estate in the local area can help smooth the process.’

After raising two children, Kathy went back to the workforce in school administration.

‘The successful marketing and selling of a property relies on sound administration of the paperwork behind the scenes. My experience in administration stands me in good stead to ensure a seamless process.’

Kathy’s friendly personality sees her build positive rapport quickly and easily with clients.

‘The market is now very sophisticated and the days of hard sell are gone. It is important to have clients feel at ease with me as a sales person so I can get to know them and find out what they are really looking for.’

As ardent Eagle supporters and with her son playing for East Fremantle, football is a big part of Kathy’s family life. The family often holiday close to home in Mandurah but also have a passion for travel further abroad.
